Good morning, Lancers.  Today, September 11th, our nation celebrates Patriot Day.

Today, we pause in a moment of silence to recognize the significance of the events that occurred on September 11, 2001, a date our nation was the victim in a series of terrorist attacks.   Today marks the anniversary of these attacks. For many Americans the events of September 11th continue to hold direct and personal significance.

Linganore High School will now observe a moment of silence both in memory of those men and women whose lives were lost as a result of the September 11th attacks and in honor of those who serve to promote freedom, liberty, and peace throughout the world.

At the end of the moment of silence, we will read The Pledge of Allegiance.
