In this Podcast, Lancer Media editors Emily Rice and Caroline Tucker discuss details gathered from the movie “It Ends With Us.” The main character of the movie deals with an abusive relationship and the actions that can take place leading up to the physical act of abuse.
Rice and Tucker discuss domestic abuse awareness and the background including drama surrounding the movie. This movie was originally a Colleen Hoover book that in 2016, won Goodreads Choice Award for Best Romance and then on August 9, the movie came out in theaters.
Blake Lively starred as the lead character, Lily Bloom, which did receive some hate throughout social media and got a lot of backlash. It was talked about by fans that Lively did not address the actual abuse of the movie, but instead she used the promotion of the movie to advertise her newly launched hair products.
Given the controversy from that, the main focus of the podcast was to primarily talk about the timeline, layout, and dramatics in the movie, not the drama outside of it. Our honest opinion was voiced and Rice and Tucker agreed that the movie’s organization was messy and confusing at times.
No matter what opinions go into the movie, it was impactful and powerful for anyone who has experienced any level of abuse. It should be noted to avoid any abusive signs and to contact 800-799-7233 if you see or experience domestic violence.
