In a survey sent out on social media, Lancers had a chance to weigh in and grade a handful of popular American Thanksgiving foods. So, how do Lancers compare to America as a whole?
A survey conducted by the Campbell’s Soup Company, the very company from which some of Americans’ favorite Thanksgiving foods derives, revealed an unsurprising truth: Americans love side dishes.
In fact, mashed potatoes, stuffing and mac and cheese stomp out main entrees such as turkey by a huge margin. According to the results of the survey, 67% of Americans prefer these supporting players, proving that Thanksgiving is not just about turkey; every dish has its day in the light.
When it comes to the grand finale, no table would be complete without the pies de résistance of the Thanksgiving feast (pun intended). The Chicago Council on Global Affairs, has stated that pumpkin pie is America’s favorite Thanksgiving pie, trumping apple pie’s 19% by a huge 15% margin. That is a 1.79:1 ratio.
