Girls tennis team plays their final game of the season
On April 29th, the Linganore girl’s tennis team finished their final game of the season with a loss against Oakdale High School.
“This season was really fun! Even though it was only my first year, I got to play games with my partner and had a lot of fun experiences,” said Rachel Ham. Ham’s partner’s name is Ella Webster and out of the 3 games they have played, they won 2.
They are ending off their season with a record of 3-12, winning twice against Frederick and once against Coach Mark Sunkel said, “We are a young team, having only 5 seniors, but we are playing better with each match.”
Coronavirus really disrupted the tennis program last year, with only six of 22 girls returning.
Excellent performances were made by seniors and co-captains Madison Baker and Alexa Estrogen. Baker will also be continuing her tennis career at the Division 1 college, Mount St. Mary’s College.
