News for October 25

by Lancer Media

Throughout the month of October, LHS students, staff, and community have participated in many events to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Today is our PINK OUT Day. The SGA is sponsoring a PINK OUT during tonight’s varsity football game. Wear pink to the game to support those battling breast cancer and to honor those who lost the fight. We have PINK OUT shirts for sale at all lunch shifts and will be selling them before the game tonight as well. We also will be doing a collection during the first half of the game in the stands. Bring your loose change or maybe a dollar to add to the buckets. If everyone gave a dollar tonight we’d raise thousands for the fight.

The Science National Honors Society members will be performing volunteering this Saturday, October 26 at the Audubon Wildlife Sanctuary in New Market from 9:00 a.m until noon. Any member interested in working should sign-up in Room A139 (Mr. Sunkel).

Frederick Community College will be at Linganore on Tuesday, October 29  during PREP. Sign up in Naviance or Student Services to meet with FCC.

Students interested in participating in the Linganore High School Winter guard should sign up on the sheet outside Mr. Dye’s room, D113, by Friday, November 1. We will have an organizational meeting on Tuesday, November 5 at 6:00 p.m and will begin rehearsals on Tuesday, November 19.

Attention Seniors Interested in getting into a high-paying career quickly after graduation… There is a program available to earn your Associate’s degree at no cost to you and become a line worker for First Energy Power Company. Consider attending an open house this Saturday at the community college in Martinsburg, WV. See Mr. Brown or Ms. Radil-Harris in C101 for details, or stop by Student Services.
