Oh, the places you’ll go: Megan Wilhelm has her eye set on BYU-Idaho
Megan Wilhelm will be traveling to Brigham Young University in Rexburg, Idaho. She made her choice because “it’s run by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints, which is the church I belong to… I wanted to be surrounded by people with similar standards and morals.”
Wilhelm will study digital photography and plans to be a photographer and business owner. After graduation, she can’t wait to “go on all sorts of adventures.” This summer Wilhelm will be traveling to San Francisco with her aunt for senior week.
As co-president of the National Art Honor Society, Wilhelm has always been a supporter of both the visual and performing arts, “My best memories at LHS have been in NAHS, just making art and fundraising with my friends.”
“I plan to participate in college chorus and I really want to take a dance class,” she said. Wilhelm participated in the LHS choir and had several featured solos.
She said Linganore psychology teacher Mr. Tony Miller has helped her throughout her high school career, “He’s really helped me to be open-minded and always think outside the box.”
Wilhelm thanks her parents and church leaders for the support they’ve provided her with, “They’ve helped me to be independent and take responsibility.”
Lancer Media is covering where members of the Class of 2017 will be heading next year. This year’s theme is “Oh the Places You’ll Go.” If you would like to be featured, come to room C203 before May 15.
Your donation will support the student journalists of Linganore High School. Your contribution will allow us to purchase camera/recording equipment and software. We hope to raise enough money to re-start a monthly printed issue of our paper.
