Ashleigh Bonanno continues her education at St. Mary’s College of Maryland.

Ashleigh Bonanno plans to take her next step in her education journey at St. Mary’s College of Maryland. Bonanno is unsure of whether she wants to major in biology or physics but knows she would like to minor in Spanish. She hopes to become a doctor.”When I was injured, I was so thankful for all of the doctors who helped me get back to playing and I knew from then on that I wanted to become a doctor,” said Bonanno.

“When I was injured, I was so thankful for all of the doctors who helped me get back to playing, and I knew from then on that I wanted to become a doctor,” said Bonanno.

Bonanno is one of the few lucky athletes who will continue to play a sport in college. She is glad she has the opportunity to join the women’s team at St. Mary’s College of Maryland.

“I’m excited that I don’t have to be finished playing the sport I love just yet,” said Bonanno

While she is at St. Mary’s she does plan to take advantage of their access to the water. “I think it will be fun to go out on the water whenever I feel like it and not worry about it costing a fortune,” Bonanno said.

During her time at Linganore, Bonanno has been a member of National Honor Society, Science Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, Varsity Basketball, and the Class of 2017.

Lancer Media is covering where members of the Class of 2017 will be heading next year. This year’s theme is “Oh the Places You’ll Go.” If you would like to be featured, come to room C203 before May 15.
