February 17 ended the boys JV basketball season with a huge win over Westminster: 63-30.

Freshman Sean Lang (the third son in the LHS Lang dynasty) scored 12 points.  Christian Nolan scored 9 points, 3 for 4 from the foul line.  Bennett Formulak scored 7 points, hitting a 3-pointer.

The boys ended a tremendous season going 16-4, losing only to their rivals Oakdale (2 times), Middletown, and Urbana. The team broke 11 LHS JV records in Coach Eric Jackson’s 10 years of coaching. The 16-4 finish is the highest performance of his tenure. Other records included 42.8% field goal percentage, 11.0 assists per game, and an average of 51.7 points per game.

Bennett Formulak, Matt Schiller, and Christian Nolan will move up to Varsity for practice and playoffs beginning February 28 at home.  Opponent TBD.

Formulak said, “It feels pretty good because I put a lot of work to get better at basketball and to have it pay off feels amazing, and it’s a great opportunity to get into their program for next year. I’m thankful for it.”
