Girls Outdoor track and field team are pumped on their way to meet at Middletown

Since the commencement of spring sports on March 1st, the Track and Field teams  have been practicing and preparing for their upcoming meets.

After working on hand offs at Tuesday’s practice, on Wednesday March 30th the Track and Field went to Middletown High school for the Fraser Relays.

Despite the cold weather, the team participated in both JV and Varsity SMR (Sprint Medley Relays) and DMR (Distance Medley Relays), along with other field events.

Of the nine teams, the girls team took 8th place, and the boys got 5th place.

The teams participated in the Screaming Eagles Invitational on Saturday, April 2 at Seneca Valley. 

Paige Badostain ran in the 4×4 along with Morgan Mathews, Sabrina Moxley and Olivia Wolfe. Their team placed 16 out of 24 .

Taylor Knoch , Megan Martin, Montana Hill and Kayla Harner ran a 4×1 in 57.02 seconds at the meet.

Katy Gallagher ran the 300m hurdles and came in 16 out of the  46 girls who competed.

“The girls had a great meet,” said Knoch.

The boys team showed off their skills as well.

Lars Eckland placed 12th in long jump and 16th in discus.

Thomas Lang and Clay Buckman ran a great 400m both placing within the top ten, Lang came in 6th in 52.10 seconds, and  Buckman came in 10th with 52.7 seconds.

The next meet is Wednesday, April 6.
