On May 20th, The James Miltenberger Jazz Ensemble played at Linganore. The band includes Dr. James Miltenberger, Curtis Johnson, Dr. Scott Green, Dr. Yana Tyulkova, Barbara Miltenberger Green, Dr. Lillian Green, and band director Kevin Lloyd.
The band brought down the house with jazz tunes like “Corcovado” by Antonio Carlos Jobim and some newly composed pieces by member Scott Green, like “Everybody Shout.“
Freshman band student Jack Adams said, “Overall it was quite nice. I enjoyed the variety of pieces.”
One of the most interesting things about the James Miltenberger Jazz Ensemble is that all of the members met and began planing at West Virginia University. Dr. Miltenberger was their professor.
The band has traveled often around America and Europe. They are excited to be making their 8th tour of Europe this summer.
