The parade began with a line of floats and decorated cars moving down the street, each one showcasing the hard work and creativity of Linganore students. Banners, streamers and bold colors filled the road, making it clear that every class, team and club put effort into their designs.
Cheerleaders and the poms team led the way, filling Main Street with energy and school spirit. Floats followed close behind, each one decorated to showcase the creativity of Linganore’s classes and clubs.
Families, alumni, and neighbors lined the sidewalks, cheering as students passed by. The parade served as both a kickoff to spirit week and a tradition that brings the whole community together.
Some floats were built around classic school pride, while others added fun twists that grabbed the attention of the crowd. Families stood along the sidewalks, waving and cheering as the parade got underway.
The parade did not just feature floats, however Various teams walked in the parade, including the cheerleading and poms teams, who waved their poms with excitement. The football team and other teams from across LHS, proudly walked together Some waved signs and banners to demonstrate their pride.

What stood out was how much of the town came out to support. Parents and younger siblings lined the street, calling out to family members in the parade. Alumni returned to reconnect with the tradition, remembering what it felt like to walk the same path down Main Street. Even local businesses took part, decorating storefronts or stepping outside to clap and take photos as the parade passed by. For seniors, it is a bittersweet milestone, as they realize this is one of their last times experiencing the event as students.
