On November 11, 2020, Rebecca Marakovitz participated in National Signing Day and committed to continuing her soccer career at Wilson College.

Wilson College is a small liberal arts school in Chambersburg, PA. Marakovitz will be playing Division III women’s soccer. The position she plays is goalkeeper.

The Wilson College head soccer coach, Terrance Harris, has had plenty of experiences coaching club and high school levels. He has a connection to the Liverpool FC organization in Frederick, MD.

The experience of signing was a feeling that I will never forget. Even though I didn’t have my friends, there it was still a great experience to have,” said Marakovitz.

Marakovitz has been playing soccer since she was three years old and joined the children’s soccer program that her parents coached.

Rebecca’s mother Nanette has been a great support through her entire soccer career.

She said,  “I’m proud of Rebecca’s accomplishments and dedication in her soccer career and being able to play in college.”

Nanette also said, “I love watching my girl play, no matter what the weather is.”

When Marakovitz was 11 years old, she made the decision to play club soccer. Her soccer career then continued through high school and is now moving on to the next level in college.

Girls Soccer Coach Mark Lastova said, “Rebecca always asks, ‘what can I do better?’ before every game.”

Her friends have also been a great support to her throughout the years.

“All of my friends have always pushed me to 100%, even if I wasn’t motivated or if I was having a bad day,” said Marakovitz.

Marakovitz will major in exercise science

Marakovitz said, “I am excited for college to make more friends and create new bonds.”
