Barbagallo shoots for the moon in Mr Linganore 2019
“I can spit water between my teeth, and I think that will be enough to win over the judges,” says Barbagallo, a candidate for Mr. Linganore 2019.
On March 9, 2019, 12 members of the Class of 2019 will be competing for the title. One of these contestants, Dominic Barbagallo, believes he has the edge. He has chosen to portray Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the moon. He made this choice due to his interest in space and science.
“When I was a freshman I attended Mr Linganore 2016 and thought it was really funny. I decided I would do it when I was a senior. What I really want to do is show off how cool I am,” said Barbagallo.
Barbagallo will be escorted by Jade Pack. “The best part of the production so far was learning how to dance with Jade. She’s been really good at keeping me on track through the process,” he said.
“Dominic does so much for Linganore. I don’t think there is a single person more committed or deserving of the title Mr. Linganore 2019,” said Linganore graduate Emily Barbagallo, Dominic’s sister.
President of the Student Government Association and former candidate for FCPS Student Member of the Board, Barbagallo is also a member of the varsity soccer team and Class of 2019 Council. He is working on getting his pilot’s license, the first step to a career in aviation. He hopes to be able to put to use the leadership skills he has gained via SGA in the Mr. Linganore competition.
