Student by day, Rockstar by night: Pare plans concert to kick off new album

by Lily Weaver and Catie Jo Tansey

Junior Nicholas Paré has his hard rock debut album, Memory, set to release on January 11.  He has been busy selling t-shirts and posting flyers to prepare for the upcoming release.

Memory consists of eight tracks and one instrumental bonus track. The album has been in the works for the past two years. Paré plays lead guitar on the entire album and is the lead songwriter.  The first songs “I Want More” and “201” have been on Spotify since October 2018.

As well as releasing his new album, Paré is performing at Linganore on the same day at 7:30 p.m. to fund raise for the school band.  The entrance fee is $5.  Friends helped Pare sell and distribute about 200 t-shirts in early December.

Paré has grown up with music his entire life and loves performing. His father has his own band, Ever Rise, which is a local band who has performed with 80’s band Kix.

Paré received his first guitar at age 10, and began taking lessons at Make N Music in Downtown Frederick and, eventually, at the School of Rock.

Paré has performed at Champions Bar and Grill in Frederick and has toured with other musicians out of state. He has played with stars such as Zakk Wylde, who was Ozzy Osbourne’s lead guitarist, and Dave Mustaine, who founded the band Megadeth and was the lead guitarist for Metallica. With Zakk Wylde, Paré performed at a club called “The Whiskey” in Los Angeles, California. He’s also performed in London, England and all along the East Coast.
