Mr Linganore contestants participate in lunchtime competitions: Photo of the Day 3/9/18
On March 8, the Mr. Linganore lunch competitions took place in the cafeteria. The contestants included Devin Barge, Erick Stutz, Lars Eklund, Garrett Johnson, Andrew Nash, Joel Tate, Nathan Lippy, and Joshua Watson.
In these competitions, the contestants first had to decorate a cake. The second competition included creating a love letter using SweetHeart candies, and the third competition included constructing towers using gumdrops and tooth picks.
“I absolutely did write the best love letter. It’s clearly tiers above the other contestants,” said Eklund.
“I wrote my love letter to the contestants, and it was inspired by the fact that I believe the contestants needed someone to love them,” said Lippy.
All participants were graded on their creations by different groups of judges, including the cafeteria staff, the English department, and Assistant Principal Mrs. Michelle Gilmore, a former math teacher.
Stutz won the gumdrop competition by creating the tallest gumdrop tower.
You can learn more about the results of the competitions by attending the Mr. Linganore contest on Saturday, March 10, at 7:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $10.
