Class of 2018 Bright Futures: Josh Watson is looking for a reaction at the University of Delaware

Josh Watson chose to attend the University of Delaware because of their top 10 nationally ranked chemical engineering program. Watson’s selection as a distinguished scholar in their honors program also played a role in his selection of school.

Watson plans to major in chemical engineering while at the University of Delaware.

“After college I plan to begin a career in materials development, alternative energy, or vaccine development that will possibly be located in Newark, Delaware,” said Watson.

Watson is looking forward to participating in intramural sports, working in chemical engineering labs,  joining small music groups, and opportunities to study abroad.

“Right now I think that I am the best at problem-solving. Mr. Brown has helped me with this in the sense of leading others. My science and math teachers have helped me to learn the extent of my potential for technical problem-solving,” said Watson.

Mrs. Purgason has been Watson’s source of inspiration during his time at Linganore from her positive attitude that she maintained on a daily basis.

“While at school, I will participate in intramural soccer and orchestra. I hope that these activities will help me to relieve stress,” said Watson.

Watson would like to thank Mr. Stair, Mrs. Ecalano, and Mr. Hahn for helping him to realize his love and aptitude for chemistry and physics.

“Some of my brightest memories at LHS have come from being on the soccer team, winning Mr. Linganore, and playing bass for the drama department,” said Watson.

Watson is looking forward to possibly meeting Joe Biden because he is a political alumni member from the University of Delaware.
