Class of 2018 Bright Futures: Garrett Gillespie engineers a future at Florida State

Garrett Gillespie chose to attend Florida State University since the weather is so warm and beautiful. Gillespie loved the large campus size and the opportunity to see more of his family that have already moved down to Florida.

While at Florida State, Gillespie plans to major in political science.

“After earning my undergrad, I would love to attend Law School and eventually make a career for myself in politics,” said Gillespie.

Gillespie is looking forward to being involved of the student life at Florida State while attending football games and tailgates.

“A career in politics would sustain me because I am good at forming and supporting my opinions. I believe that in-class debates and Mock Trial have helped me get to where I am today,” said Gillespie.

Gillespie plans to participate in intramural football and basketball and can’t wait to meet new people that play along with him.

“My multiple internships have really prepared me for my future plans. Working with the Montgomery County State’s Attorneys office, Montgomery County Police department, my dad, and all the previous mentors that I’ve had,” said Gillespie.
