If you want to be involved in important school policy decisions for all of Frederick County then you could be applied to be the next Student Member of the Board of Education! For more information or to obtain an application please contact Mr. Brown. Completed student packets and applications are due at 4:00 pm on November 2nd.

Alexandra Dembeck’s story was chosen for the Best of School Newspapers Online.  It’s the first step on the Lancer Media road to Distinguished SNO Site for 2018-2019. Please congratulate her, it’s quite an honor!

Students planning to donate blood during Linganore’s blood drive must return the Donor Consent Form to Mr. Brown prior to Thursday to be scheduled. Student donors must be 16 years old and healthy.

Any parents or adults in the community can schedule a donation time by emailing Mr. Brown at the email below. Appointments are available from 7:00 AM till 11:00 AM. Thank you for your support!

Messiah College is visiting Linganore on October 22nd and Bridgewater College is visiting Tuesday, October 23rd. Sign up on Naviance or stop by Students Services for more information.

Tickets are only $8! Purchase your tickets at the door on the day of the event, or you can purchase them from Drama Club representatives at lunch all this week. After you’ve worked up a hunger from ice skating, stop by the Roy Rogers on Route 26 and mention Linganore High School Drama Club to have part of your purchase go towards the Linganore Drama Club. Child development and little lancers have a baby cow coming in today during prep. If you want to name this new baby calf, go vote on the poll on the little lancers twitter page.

Women In Science and Engineering is meeting tonight from 7:00 to 8:15 PM at the Earth Space Science Laboratory at in Frederick. The featured speakers are a panel of various scientists from the Greater Maryland chapter of Graduate Women in Science. There will be a fall theme, science door prizes, and a hands-on activity!

This past Friday, October 12th, Senior, Ryan McFadden, shot a 76 at Westminster National Golf Club finishing 5th in the Boys division and qualified for the State Tournament for the 3rd time in 4 years.  He finished 2nd in the County Championship shooting 70, and second in the CMC Conference championship shooting 68.

Also, junior Payton Smith shot 79 at Westminster National Golf Club finishing 2nd in the girls’ division and qualified for the State Tournament for the 2nd time in 3 years.  Her 2nd place finishes rounded out her tournament year, where she finished 3rd in the County tournament shooting 81 and 3rd at the CMC Conference Championship. The Linganore Golf Team finished third overall in the Districts Tournament shooting a combined score of 335.
