Do you like to ice skate? Come to support the Linganore Drama Department by skating this Sunday.

If the military interests you as a career choice, then you will want to meet with Sargent Hanson, the Recruiter for the Marines. Sargent Hanson will be at Linganore on Thursday, October 18th to discuss the ROTC program.  See Ms. Failor in Student Services to sign up for this great opportunity.

The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery will be administered at Linganore High School the morning of November 8th. Students who are interested in the military or who want to assess their vocational interests and aptitude are encouraged to take the ASVAB.  Sign-up with Ms. Failor in Student Services by Friday, November 2nd.

Women In Science and Engineering is a program developed to encourage females to participate as they have as a group been identified as underrepresented in the fields of science and engineering; however, all students, male and female are welcome to participate. WISE is meeting this Wednesday from 7:00 to 8:15 PM at the Earth Space Science Laboratory. Our featured speaker is a panel of various scientists from the Greater Maryland chapter of Graduate Women in Science. Enjoy a fall theme, science door prizes and a hands-on activity! The University of Maryland is hosting a math competition next Wednesday, Oct. 24 from 2:30-4:30 in Mrs. York’s room. High scorers from this competition will advance to a second round on November 28. The top scorer in the county between both rounds will receive $100, and the top 3 scorers in the state will receive $500, $400, and $300, and a full scholarship to the University of Maryland.
