Members of the Science National Honor Society are reminded that their membership applications are due today to Mr. Sunkel in Room A139.

Congratulations to Khelsa Connolly and Megan Martin who won the 2nd place in Creative use of Materials in the Rethink Recycle Competition at the Department of Environment in Baltimore on Friday. Their Sculpture: Soul Surfer was made out of Khelsa’s old running shoes.

Next Friday, December 14th is movie night in the Linganore auditorium at 7 pm., with the classic 1978 film, GREASE, starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John. Tickets are $5. Grease actor Eddie Deezen, who played Eugene in the film, will be here to introduce the movie and sign autographs.

The Linganore Drama Department is holding auditions for their spring musical, Beauty and the Beast. All students are welcome to audition! Auditions are from 2:30-6:30, and will be held in room D101 or onstage on December 11th, 12th, and 13th. Packets with all required information about the auditions are outside of room D101. See Mrs. Smithhisler with any questions.

There has been a correction in date for the student director and choreographer interviews. Please note, it is scheduled for Wednesday, December 5th after school in room A217. No need to bring anything, just be ready to answer questions.

Linganore is having a holiday concert featuring the concert band, concert choir, percussion ensemble, and guitar ensemble. The concert will be on Thursday, December 6th at 7 pm. A suggested five dollar donation would be much appreciated.

The English Department is sponsoring Writers’ Week from December 10th –  13th. Join any day during PREP or after school to get help with scholarship essays, creative writing, Young Authors’ contest, and crafting.  Sign up outside of Ms. Troxel’s room C222 by Friday, December 7th. NEHS students can earn hours for participation.

Bring your friends and family to dinner tonight at the Greene Turtle in Mount Airy and support Linganore’s fundraiser for its annual distinguished graduates’ ceremony. Show up at the Greene Turtle anytime between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 a.m. and let your server know that you are there in support of Linganore High to help donate 20% of its proceeds.
