Senior Countdown 2018: Lancer softball swings into 10 days!
Class of 2018 has only 10 days left.
The Lancer softball team is almost done their season with an updated record of 14-3. On May 8, the central Maryland conference took place at Hood College, and our Linganore Lancers took on the Catoctin Cougars. Although they put up a good fight, our lady Lancers lost 7-5.
The first senior Jordan Specht was the excellent catcher and next year she will be attending Hood College in the fall.
Cailyn Barthlow was recently given the honor of being the Frederick County Coaches Association Female Scholar Athlete for 2018. She is a three sport athlete who plays volleyball, basketball, and, of course, softball. This fall she will also be attending Hood College and will play for the Blazers.
Kaitlyn Naill excelled this year playing pitcher, she was even named “Winning Pitcher” by the Frederick News Post. Naill will play softball at FCC and major in elementary education.
Lindsay Thomas, plans to attend Frederick Community College and continue to play there and then go to a four-year college and become a nurse practitioner.
Logan Breidenstein had a great last season and will be attending Coastal Carolina University next year to major in Marine Science. She also plans to continue playing softball on her club team. Logan is also ready for playoffs to start and she is excited to see how far they can go.
Mikayla McFarland will attend FCC.
Catch our Linganore softball girls at their first playoff game on May 14 at LHS. They play against Frederick High at 4:30.
Your donation will support the student journalists of Linganore High School. Your contribution will allow us to purchase camera/recording equipment and software. We hope to raise enough money to re-start a monthly printed issue of our paper.
