Oh, the places you’ll go: Grace Weaver will be going from Lancer to Blazer next year
Grace Weaver will be going from Lancer to Blazer this fall to attend Hood College to study history and to earn her teacher certificate. Weaver hopes to study abroad in Spain or Italy during her junior year.
“I decided to study history and get my teaching certificate because I want to be able to come out of college with the ability to get a job. I plan to go to law school after college to become a lawyer,” said Weaver.
She looks forward to playing on the Hood soccer team, being a member of the Honors program, and meeting new people.
Some of Weaver’s favorite memories come from her sports teams. “My lacrosse team this year has been my favorite team I have ever played on. We don’t care about the outcome of the game as much as we care about each other, and I think that’s important to see in a bunch of high school girls.”
During her time at Linganore, Weaver has been Editor-in-Chief of The Lance, President of Rho Kappa, Secretary for National Honor Society, Historian for National English Honor Society, and Captain of Varsity Lacrosse. She has also been a member of Mock Trial and Varsity Soccer.
Her advice for the underclassmen is “In 15 years, studying for that one test won’t make the difference in your life, but not spending time with your family will.”
Weaver would like to thank her parents who helped her become who she is today, “Everything that I know about myself has been because you guys have pushed me. Without my parents, I would never have become as driven as I am.”
Lancer Media is covering where members of the Class of 2017 will be heading next year. This year’s theme is “Oh the Places You’ll Go.” If you would like to be featured, come to room C203.
