Maya Hannon will be going to Salisbury University next year to continue her education.

Maya Hannon rides the wave to Salisbury University where she will be studying kinesiology. Hannon plans to become a physical therapist. She hopes to study abroad in Greece her sophomore year.

This year, Hannon participated in an internship at a physical therapist’s office that helped her understand what she was getting ready to do in her future.

“Getting the first-hand experience in the PT field allowed for me to feel confident in the choice that I made,” said Hannon.

She has also prepared herself by taking sports medicine this year. This class goes over human anatomy, first-aid and CPR certification, taping ankles, ankles, concussions, and knee evaluations.

“Taking this class was the highlight of my senior year. Ms. Poffenberger really helped me dive into the sports medicine field head first,” she said.

During her time at Salisbury Hannon would like to continue to play softball through club or intramural sports.

Before she goes off on her journey, Hannon will be adventuring to California and Cancun this summer. Hannon also plans to spend her summer going to senior week, graduation parties, and hanging with her friends before her last summer before college.
