Are you interested in taking part in the creation of Frederick County Public School policies? It’s time to nominate the Student Member of the Board of Education. All you have to do is log on to the link below or see Mr. Brown or Mr. Burch for a packet that outlines the process for applying online. Nominations will take place in January and the election is in March. Good luck!

Science Fair Season is almost here! There will be an open house at the ESSL on Wednesday, November 15th from 4:30 to 6:30. Be sure to stop by and learn more about competing at the County level. County registration opens January 2nd to March 4th. 

Women In Science and Engineering is meeting this Wednesday (11/15) from 7:00 to 8:15 PM at the Earth Space Science Laboratory. Our featured speaker is Pamela Vong, a software engineer. Enjoy a fall theme, science door prizes and a hands-on activity!

WISE is a program developed to encourage females to participate as they have as a group been identified as underrepresented in the fields of science and engineering; however, all students, male and female are welcome to participate.

Linganore’s fall play, The Giver, opens Thursday, November 16th. 

Key Club is having our annual Charlie Brown Thanksgiving event this Wednesday the 15th. We will be having snacks from the movie and completing several service projects. Please sign up with what you will bring in Mr. Brown’s room. Even if you are not a member, come join us for these fall festivities in C101 after school on Wednesday. Also don’t forget to sign up to help at the Mount Airy Kiwanis Club’s Pancake Breakfast this Saturday

The Football team beat Blake by a score of 27-12 with Ryan Leyh throwing two touchdowns to Joey Felton and Davon Butler, Davon also scored a rushing touchdown and Bennett Formulak kicked 2 field goals.

The Varsity Cheer team’s won the state championship on Saturday, good job girls.

 The Boys Cross Country team won states this past weekend with Michael Belmaggio, Will Cioffi, Spencer Askine, Kyle Guinn all finished in the top twenty five, and Girls Cross Country team got 14th place in states. Great job Lancers.

Girls Soccer won in playoffs 2-1 with Haley Barge scoring a goal and tied the school’s single season scoring record, and Ashley Yurich scoring the game winning goal on a penalty kick.  

Wanna be the next Johnny Holliday? Coach Easterday is looking for a play-by-play announcer for the Girls’ Basketball team. Come prepared tomorrow  November 14th from 2:30 to 3:15 to audition for the job. There will be a script to follow, a question-and-answer session and an impromptu portion of the interview. If you are interested in trying out for the job, please sign up in Coach Easterday’s office located in the Gym Hallway.
