Newcomb’s English 10 classes display research projects ranging from space to psychopaths: Photo of the Day 4/29/2016

During Term 3, Ms. MaryEllen Newcomb’s English 10 classes were tasked with selecting and reading a nonfiction narrative. Part of the expectation was to formulate possible research terms while reading. Students were then asked to pursue one of their research terms and create a presentation that included artifacts relative to the topic.
The presentations of these artifacts were held in the Media Center, where half the class would share their project, while the other half went around and evaluated each.
A wild array of projects were produced, all with interesting artifacts about psychology, health issues, science, tattoos, and more.
One of these presentations was given by Anna Young. Her project was on the Challenger Space Shuttle and the reason for its disastrous end. Young said, “The most challenging part is probably narrowing down all the information because there was just so much, and you could go into so much depth about what happened.”
“I knew I wanted to do something about space, but I wasn’t sure what part because both of my parents worked at NASA. It didn’t take me that long, just because I’ve been inspired by them so much.” Young added.
