LHSsees2020: Rachel Femiano dances her way to Towson
Rachel Femiano, a competitive dancer for 13 years, has chosen to bring her talents to the tiger’s den in the fall of 2016.
“I chose Towson because it is more diverse than Linganore, and I am close enough to my family so I know I can visit them often. Also, I have been to three auditions at the dance program, and they seemed laid-back, but still professional. I really liked that,” said Femiano.
Choosing a college with an accomplished dance program is essential to Femiano. She plans to major in Dance and is contemplating continuing her education with a major in Marketing or Business.
After completing her education at Towson, she aspires to own her own dance company and spark the passion for dance in other people.
“I’ve been dancing since I was four, and I have been doing it full-time ever since then. It is the one thing in my life that I have always went back to, and no matter what, I always enjoy it. I feel like I can make a career out of it and enjoy it,” said Femiano.
Like many seniors, Femiano looks forward to the freedom college will bring. “I will miss seeing my friends every day. Living the daily routine, seeing the same people, I’m really going to miss that, but I’m ready to go!”

So proud of Rachel. She is a beautiful dancer and young woman. Towson has gained an individual with a strong sense of dedication and passion, and Rachel will love the campus life Towson has to offer.
