Ranjita Cornette talks to journalism adviser Natalie Rebetsky and Lancer Media students about her experiences as a recording artist.

Ranjita Cornette, Class of 1984, received the 2016 Distinguished Graduate Award for Business. She came to the journalism class to talk to them about her success.

“I felt humbled and honored when I found out I was winning this award,” Cornette said.

Cornette is the Vice President of Graphic Audio, which is an audio book publisher creating audio entertainment. They have licenses with Marvel and DC Comics.

She also has a Christian rock band called HarvestBloom. Their music has been featured in many programs including HGTV, MTV, Nickelodeon, NBC, and many more. Her husband, Patrick, plays guitar in her band and their song “Let It Go” was on Billboard’s new and active chart in 2011.

Cornette also manages the Potomac Talking Book Services, this is a company that records audio books for the blind and visually handicapped.
