Last spring, the Varsity Boys Lacrosse team won the Maryland 3A State Championship. The boys beat Mt. Hebron for the state title with a final score of 9-7 in a nail-biting game.

After the long wait, the boys finally are receiving their rings.  The rings cost $160 but could be personalized for the specific player. Players could get their name and position on either side of the ring.

The rings say “2016 State Champions” with two lacrosse sticks crossed and a spear going through the middle.

Even though it’s only the fall season, the team is already preparing for next year. Senior long stick defender, Matt Honchalk said, “Most of the team is playing club or lifting, and then we start off season training and lifting in the winter.”

The Varsity Boys Lacrosse team will start their season against South Carroll on March 21, 2017. Last season, the boys went 13-1 in the regular season and are hoping to have a winning record again this year.

Senior midfielder Will Pelicier said,”I’m excited to play and get in more of the action this year.”

The team also will be continuing their tradition of pre-game pictures (PGPs) this next season. Last year, former seniors Greg Thompson, Tony Komara, Noah Garabedian, and Jimmy Walker passed the tradition down to Sam Honchalk, Matt Honchalk, Devin Beck, and Spencer Young. The seniors have already started planning what the want to do next season.

Good luck on your season boys!
