Promposals 2015: Colin & Kristen
Senior Colin Saylor promposes to senior Kristen Durbin with a message written on a softball.
Lancer Media is featuring the creative Promposals, leading up to the big day, May 2.
On the morning of Friday, April 17, senior Colin Saylor pitched a promposal to senior Kristen Durbin in the parking lot at her car. It consisted of yellow roses that matched a yellow softball which read, “I might strike out, but will you go to prom with me?” Saylor got a homerun; Durbin said, “Yes.”
Saylor thought of the idea because he knew Durbin plays softball, and he wanted to find a cute way to incorporate that into the promposal.
Durbin thought it was a very meaningful gesture. “I was surprised that he actually thought it out and did it in a very creative way that connects to me and my personality,” she said.
Winding up for the promposal wasn’t very difficult for Saylor. “I didn’t have too much to do except find a softball, make sure the handwriting was neat, and make sure the flowers stayed alive,” he said.
