- What are Lancer Media Alerts?
- Lancer Media alerts are text message alerts about news, announcements, sports scores and major updates happening at the school. They are sent as standard SMS or MMS text messages.
- Are there any charges for Lancer Media Alerts?
- We provide alerts to you free of charge; however, standard text messaging and data rates may apply. Please contact your wireless provider if you have questions regarding your text messaging service.
- How are Lancer Media Alerts delivered?
- Lancer Media Alerts are delivered via text message (SMS or MMS) to your mobile phone’s inbox.
- Can I get Lancer Media alerts on my BlackBerry?
- Yes, if your BlackBerry is SMS-enabled via your wireless carrier. Please contact your wireless service provider if you have questions regarding your SMS service.
- What phone number will the alerts come from?
- The phone number will depend on your wireless carrier. In some cases, messages will be sent as a multimedia message (MMS), and they will be sent from [email protected]. In other instances, messages will be sent as a standard message (SMS) and your carrier will display a random number.
- Is my mobile phone able to receive Alerts?
- Most mobile devices that can receive text messages (SMS or MMS service) are able to receive Lancer Media Alerts, provided you have a text messaging or data service plan from a participating wireless service provider. Please contact your wireless provider if you have questions regarding your SMS service.
- Can I get Lancer Media alerts with my wireless service?
- Lancer Media provides alerts service to most US carriers, including:

- Daily message updates
- We will send 1-2 messages per day if you subscribe to this category.
- Messages will include daily news, announcements, and important reminders for the day.
- Weekly message updates
- 1-2 messages per week
- Highlights events over the past week
- Links to our weekly recap
- News as it happens
- We will send frequent messages to you if you subscribe to this category.
- News is sent as it develops
- On some days you might receive 15 messages, while on others you might receive none.
- Only important alerts
- We will send you alerts that we deem are important.
- We will try to send you very few alerts if you subscribe to this option.
- New article alert
- Whenever we post a new article, you will receive an alert and a link to the article.
- Multiple messages per week.
- Photo of the day alert
- 1-2 messages per day
- You will receive a link to the photo of the day. (If you have data or unlimited messaging you might receive the photo directly in the message.)

- Receive the fact or question of the day

- If you would like to add or remove an alert type you can submit your registration form again. Alternatively, you may email [email protected] or text us at 240-285-9894.
- How do I know if there is a new Alert available?
- New Alert types are offered frequently. Check the alert subscription page for new offerings.
- Are Lancer Media Alerts delivered outside of the US?
- Yes. If your cell phone carrier is outside of the United States, please email us at [email protected].
- How do I get help for Lancer Media Alerts?
- If you need assistance with Lancer Media Alerts, please contact us at [email protected] or call/text 240-285-9894.
- What if I want to cancel all Alerts?
- To end your free subscription to Lancer Media Alerts, please follow one of the following procedures:
- If messages are being delivered from “[email protected]”, reply with the word “STOP”
- Email us at [email protected]. Include your name and cell phone number along with a message stating that you would like to stop receiving our alerts.
- Call or text 240-285-9894 and state that you would like to stop receiving alerts.
- We will remove you from our alert list as soon as possible.
- To end your free subscription to Lancer Media Alerts, please follow one of the following procedures:
- What if I want to stop getting a specific type of Alert?
- Re-submit a subscription form. We will apply your changes as soon as possible.
- I stopped my Alerts service. How do I get it back?
- To re-instate your Alerts service, submit a new registration form.
- What if I don’t want Alerts during a particular time of day?
- We currently do not offer any way to suspend your alerts service for any period of time. Sorry for any inconvenience.
- How many Alerts will I receive each week?
- The number of alerts you receive is dependant on the types of alerts you subscribe to.
- If I have an idea for an Alert type not offered, who can I contact?
