In May, AP and French IV students went to the athletic field and recreated Georges Seurat’s famous painting, Un dimanche après-midi sur l’Île de la Grande Jatte (A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grand Jatte), using live models, a few umbrellas and a towel,  to recreate the people featured in the original painting.

Class of 2014 member, Nick Weinel, was inspired by The Office, which recreated the famous painting using the cast of the show.  Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grand Jatte is an illustration in  in the AP French textbook.  With his enthusiasm, and senior Jack Garabedian’s direction, the class got busy planning the photo shoot.
