On Saturday, September 20, the girls varsity volleyball team hosted the Linganore Invitational, a 10-team tournament. The morning kicked off with Austin Dye’s performance of the “Star Spangled Banner.”

The girls began the championship at 7 a.m. and played  until 8 p.m., claiming second place. The team played five matches, the equivalent to two games per match. First place went to Chambersburg. The final score was 2-1, a close game overall.

“We put everything we possibly could have on the court. That was the best we have played, and I am so proud of us,” co-captain Rebecca Downs said.

This was the first time Linganore has finished in the finals.

A special thanks to the JV volleyball team and parents who helped make the day run smoothly.
