**Attention all students! Our new tutoring center, The Lancer Lair, is hosting a Logo Design Contest. Interested students should design a logo for the tutoring enter and submit the image using the QR code on the flyers posted around the school. Designs are due by September 20th. The winner will receive a cash prize and the logo will be used to represent our tutoring center. The contest is open to all students. See Mrs. Ecalono or Mrs. Weiss with any questions!
**The Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) is pleased to announce an opportunity for two Maryland students to participate in the 2022 United States Senate Youth Program (USSYP). The one-week program provides an opportunity for students to meet with legislative, executive, and judicial leaders to discuss political issues that affect our nation. The 2022 USSYP program will be held in-person or virtually from March 5 – 12, 2022. This program, now in its 60th year, is fully funded by the William Randolph Hearst Foundation. The USSYP has an excellent reputation for providing outstanding student leaders a unique experience in understanding our nation’s political process. Each participant also receives a one-time $10,000 undergraduate college scholarship and is encouraged to pursue coursework in history and political science. **National English Honor Society applications are due today, September 15 by the end of the day. Please see Mrs. Rebetsky in C207 if you have questions.
**National Honor Society applications are due electronically on Monday, September 20th by 3:30pm. You must be a member of our Schoology group to access the application. Please see Mrs. Ecalono or Ms. Baker if you have any questions.
**Homecoming 2021 is coming soon! Take a minute and nominate a classmate to be considered for the Homecoming Court. All Nominees should be an example of Lancer spirit and pride, show good character, and be a good student in the classroom. In your nomination you will be asked to describe how this person exemplifies what it means to be a Lancer. Deadline- September 17, 4:00 PM. The nomination link can be found at www.LinganoreSGA.com.
**The 2021 Homecoming Dance will be on Saturday, October 2. The Dance theme is Lancer Rewind, recognizing 60 years of Lancer History. Throughout the night we’ll have flashback moments for classic dance hits from the last 60 years. Tickets go on sale at all lunch shifts starting Friday, September 17. Last day to buy tickets will be Thursday, September 23rd. Tickets are $25. See. Mr. Brown with any questions.
