The 47th annual community show entries create a local buzz

From October 4 to 5, the 47th annual Linganore-New Market Community Show showcased individuals skills and accomplishments.
From floral arrangements to animal showcases, there is a place for all ideas in the community show.
Community members also brought their farm animals and pets for display. Some animals included goats, horses, bunnies, and more.
This show is not only for the New Market community but for the students of Linganore. Students like Taylor Droneburg can showcase their photography skills and win first place. Other students such as Dorothy McMillen can boast about their baked goods and compete for the top spot.
Classes like computer graphics, horticulture, art, welding, photography, engines and power, and veterinary medicine can all showcase their accomplishments and what they have learned in class through the community show.
Popular entries from students in these classes include baked goods, animals, photographs, hand drawn portraits, welding creations, and computer generated artwork.
Some LHS classes and programs also display entries; Computer Graphics teacher Tracy Bozzonetti’s students submitted photographs and digital drawings.
Pre-Vet teacher and Future Farmers of America Organization Linganore advisor Patricia Beachy’s students showed off their farm animals.
Horticulture teacher Thomas Hawthorne’s bouquet and flower arrangements created by students and himself. During the school year, there are various events and plant sales coming straight from the greenhouse at Linganore. Keep a look out for more information.
