Varsity golf finishes third in tournament: Photo of the Day 9/20/19
The golf team headed to Clustered Spires Golf Course early September 17 to compete in the Frederick County Golf tournament.
Vince Booth, Ethan Crabb, and Matthew Chesebrough all shot 80 on the day, and Austin May 81. These low scores combined to 321, finishing third in the tournament behind Urbana and Oakdale high school.
Payton Smith shot an 84 to finish third in the girls individual meet.
After Linganore’s strong finish at Counties, they are now focusing on Districts with hopes of shooting well and making it the State Championship.
Sophomore Austin May said, “We all played great. We left a lot of shots out there that pushed our scores up a little bit, but we have two weeks to focus on our weaknesses and get ready to post low scores at districts to put our school in position to win a State Championship.”
Linganore plays against Gov. Thomas Johnson High School at PB Dye Golf Club on September 26. The match begins at 4:00 p.m.
