On November 13, Sarah Moravansky signed her National Letter of Intent to compete in gymnastics at Division I Western Michigan University. Out of 82 NCAA Women’s Gymnastics, WMU Gymnastics is ranked 50th in their conference. She verbally committed as a sophomore.

Western Michigan is located in Kalamazoo. The college is ranked one of the highest biomedical sciences schools in Michigan, which is what Moravansky will be studying.

“I decided on Western Michigan because I absolutely love the coaches and the and campus. The team atmosphere is amazing,” Sarah Moravansky said.

Moravansky  is a multi-sport athlete competing for Frederick gymnastics and for Linganore’s track and field team. Moravasnky is a multiple state, regional, and national qualifier in gymnastics and has set school records in the pole vault and the 4×200 meter race.

“Sarah was also offered a track scholarship by Wheeling University. Track is her other sport she loves to do,” her mother, Elizabeth Moravasnky, said.

“We were so excited when WMU offered Sarah a scholarship. She did look at other schools but chose WMU on her own since they have one of the best biomedical science degrees,” Elizabeth Moravansky said.

Sarah’s biggest supporter is her mom “She has always supported all of my decision and has encouraged me so much throughout the college process.”

“I was happy for Sarah when she decided to commit to WMU. One of her goals as a young gymnast was to eventually be good enough to be considered for a scholarship. As her dad, it made me happy to see her overcome all the obstacles that she faced,” her father Tom Moravansky said.
