Senior Countdown 2019: Varsity field hockey sticks through 16 days left
There are sixteen days left for seniors, and the Varsity Field Hockey team is sticking through until the last day. There are three members of the Class of 2019 on the team.
The team fought through a successful but challenging 2018 fall season with a 9-5 record and making it to the third official round of the playoffs. During the regular season a highlight for the seniors was defeating rival Urbana High School in one on one’s with the goalie after playing a regular game and going through two over times.
The Class of 2019 members of the Varsity Field Hockey team include Julia Cencetti, Morgan Mathews, and Paige Wilhelm. Julia Cencetti will be attending Hood College in the fall to major in elementary/special education and continue her field hockey career. Morgan Mathews will be attending Frostburg State University to major in geology and to continue her field hockey and track careers. Paige Wilhelm will be attending Chowan University to major in exercise science and to continue her softball career.
“I will miss my favorite teachers and hanging out with my best friends all the time the most. I would want to tell the underclassmen to cherish all of the opportunities and fun times that will come their way,” said Mathews.
Over their four years, the seniors have made memories that will last a lifetime.
