Little Lancers read across America: Photo of the day 3/28/18
April 2, 2018
In March, the Little Lancers took part of Read Across America Day. The National Education Association created this day to encourage children all around the world to read. Most children who participate in this event read Dr. Seuss books because not only is March 2 Read Across America day; it’s also Dr. Seuss’s birthday!
February 26th through March 2nd the Little Lancers received surprises like eating scrumptious cake made by a child development student, Hannah Lemen, and also participating in fun activities with their buddies and their teacher, Mrs. Kate Lane.
On Friday March 2, senior Kaycee Morris surprised the kids as she dressed up like the “Cat in the Hat.”
Kaycee said, ” I enjoyed surprising the kids and reading to them all week. I believe Read Across America is a good program to get children all around the world to read fun books.
Mrs. Lane also said, ” We celebrate this special day not only because it’s a good organization, but also because kids that are this young love Dr. Seuss, and it’s a good excuse to read their favorite books and gave fun.”
