On January 10, Ashley J. Barthlow, a veterinarian at the Heritage Animal Hospital and Distinguished Graduate recipient, visited Ms. Patricia Beachy’s Pre-Vet class to give a presentation about veterinary careers.

In her presentation, Barthlow talked about her job and what she does, such as pet check-ups, vaccinations, and numerous procedures. She also talked about the school and career path she went on after graduating from Linganore in order to get where she is today, and gave advice to students interested in pursuing a similar field.

“It was really cool having Ms. Barthlow come in and talk about her job,” said Class of 2019 member Erin Blache. “Since I am interested in the same things she is, I really enjoyed hearing her presentation.”

At the end of her presentation, Barthlow added, “Being a veterinarian is a very fun and rewarding field, but you have to be willing to work hard for it.”
