The Linganore baseball team played Tuscarora April 11 at home. Unfortunately Lancers were issued their first lost 3-1, with their record updated to 2-2-1.

Jacob Ference, scored the lone run on a two out RBI. Garrett Schwartzbeck had a single and a stolen base while Zach Willet took a 2 to 4 with a stolen base according to the Frederick News Post.

Schwartzbeck said, “Jake Santis threw really well, only allowing three hits. We just couldn’t have the clutch to out hit with runners on. Our defense has won us games, but the bats will come around soon.”

Coach David Keiling with Schwartzbeck’s asssessment.  He said in the FNP, “Once we start hitting the ball, our [strong] pitching and defense isn’t going anywhere. We will be one of the top teams in our region.”

Due to the unseasonable cold and snow at the beginning of the season, baseball games will be made up next week. Please come watch our Lancers this upcoming week, Wednesday, April 18 at home vs. North Hagerstown and Thursday April 19 for a rescheduled away game at Frederick high school.
