On December 20,  The Eric Byrd Trio played a Charlie Brown Christmas Concert.

The Eric Byrd Trio is a group who plays, gospel, blues and jazz consisting of Eric Byrd on piano and vocals, Bhagwan Khalsa on acoustic bass and Alphonso Young, Jr. on drums.

The Charlie Brown Christmas movie was projected before the The Eric Byrd Trio then came on stage and played the soundtrack with a mix of jazz and blues.

During “Christmas Time Is Here,” Will and Quintin Byrd performed. Quintin performed the vocals. Will plays acoustic guitar and attends New Market Middle.

Music teacher Mr. Kevin Lloy sat in on the drums for several songs.

Eric Byrd joked on stage and told funny jokes about his wife Leslie Byrd, the head of the math department.

Nicole Hartswick (A member of the audience) said, “I was blown away by this band! Not only was their music upbeat and emotionally rich, but the band members were interactive with the audience, providing a very relaxed and engaging environment.”
