PJ Hinch chose to attend Virginia Tech University primarily because if the four year Army ROTC scholarship that he received from VT that covers his entire tuition. However, Hinch also liked the university because they are ranked in the top 10 in the nation for their engineering program.
Hinch plans to major in electrical engineering while at Virginia Tech.
“After college, I will be a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army due to my ROTC scholarship where I’ll become a combat engineer,” said Hinch.
While attending Virgnia Tech, Hinch is looking forward to having both a military and civilian lifestyle while away at college. He also likes the idea of being able to have the independence to join clubs and to make his own decisions.
“While at Linganore, Mr. Greene has been my best mentor and has made the biggest impact on my life. Since he was the PLTW engineering teacher, he really opened my eyes to my love for engineering, and really made it fun for me,” said Hinch.
Hinch plans on joining the Virginia Tech Shotgun team. Hinch is currently the Maryland State champion, Zone champion, and ranks top 10 in the nation.
