Class of 2018 Bright Futures: Kayla Buratowski and Lindsey Ekanger will support each other at Shippensburg
April 16, 2018
Kayla Buratowski and Lindsey Ekanger are both attending Shippensburg University as roommates.
“I chose Shippensburg mainly because the area surrounding the campus is a lot like Frederick. It’s close enough to home but still far enough away,” said Kayla. Shippensburg is located in Pennsylvania near Harrisburg
“I chose Shippensburg because they have a really good educational program and they have an on campus lab school so I can go in anytime I want and observe classes,” said Ekanger.
Kayla plans to pursue a career in digital marketing.
Lindsey plans to double major in elementary education and special education. After college she plans to teach in a school for a few years then go back to school to earn a master’s degree in student counseling.
“I’ll definitely try to become more organized for college and my classes,” said Buratowski.
“I’m a really big procrastinator, but, like Kayla,I’ll try to become more organized, and maybe use a calendar for once,” said Ekanger.
After dancing for 16 years, Kayla plans to join the dance team at Shippensburg.
Lindsey plans to join the equestrian team while at college since she has been riding since she was five. She also plans to join the chorus as well.
“Any teacher that I’ve had from kindergarten to now has really prepared me for college, but I’d really like to thank my parents,” said Buratowski.
“I really want to thank my family because they really helped me to stay involved in activities, whether it was to be in Girl Scouts and the choruses that I have been in because they have all helped me to grow as a person,” said Ekanger.
The two are excited to attend Shippensburg together and can’t wait to make new friends together during the next four years of their schooling.
