On October 2 the Little Lancer Preschool Program started for the fall. The 10-week session is run by the Child Development class and is headed by Mrs. Kate Lane.

There are 17 children in the class of 3 to 4 year-olds. The children arrive at the beginning of second period and leave before lunch.

The class began with the “Good Morning Song” and then greeted to each child by name. The Child Development students recognize a “special person on the day.” Each child is honored and stands in-front-of the class. After that is done, they begin story time. The children also do art, math, Play-Doh, fingerplays and then snack.

Nicole Dunne, Class of 2019 said, “I am excited to learn with the kids and be able to be a part of their learning experience.”

The child development class has been preparing for the arrival of the children since the first day of school. They cleaned and set up the classroom, made lesson plans and did research to see what each child enjoy based on their preference.

“Mrs. Lane helped us to prepare and plus my mom was a huge help. She has been doing daycare for 15 years. So I already had experience with the kids growing up around me,” said Adrianna Flickinger, Class of 2021.

Future activities include trick or treating, a visit from the fire department and a holiday party.
