Mr. Linganore 2018 is fast approaching. If you wish to participate in the competition, please pick up an application form from Mr. Brown and turn it in to Room C103 or C203 by Friday, January 12th. The first twelve to turn in their completed forms are in the show.

Congratulations to Colleen Avilla who won 2nd place in the Drawing and Painting category at the Frederick Women’s Civic Youth Art Contest, and to Kat Georgiannis who won 3rd place in Photography.  The work is on display at the Frederick Community College Art Gallery for 2 weeks.  These works will go on to compete at the regional level next month.

Attention students, there will be no after school tutoring with Ms. York today: January 8th

Members of the Science National Honor Society are reminded that their national dues are due to Mr. Sunkel in Room A139.

The Cool School Challenge is fast approaching! On January twenty fifth, hundreds of brave students from all over Maryland are going to plunge into the Chesapeake bay to raise money and awareness for the Special Olympics. Help Linganore reach our goal of 3 thousand, 500 dollars. See Mr. Brown in room C101 to sign up today.

Are you interested in Biological Systems engineering?  What does that even mean?  This Thursday, Linganore graduate, Taylor Lohneis, will present about general engineering as well as the specifics of Biological Systems Engineering at Virginia Tech, and how the department combines engineering, biology, chemistry, and physics in solving problems. If you are interested in attending, please contact Mrs Ericsson in A141 or Mrs Purgason across the hall, no later than Wednesday to sign up for this presentation during Thursday’s PREP.  

Current sophomores or juniors interested in taking a Dual Enrollment course next school year should attend an informational meeting during PREP tomorrow in the auditorium to discuss sign-ups for the Accuplacer Placement Test being administered at LHS on Wednesday, January 31st. Please attend if interested.

There will be a softball Meeting this Wednesday, January 10th at 2:30 in Coach Baker’s Room B123. If you can’t attend see Coach Poffinberger for more information.

Girls and Boys basketball won their matches on Friday. Girls Varsity won their game seventy five to forty six against Urbana High School

Boys Basketball won seventy to fifty seven against Urbana with Nicholas Lang scoring 27 points and Christian Nolan scoring 11 points. Tommy Moyer and Matt Shiller made the most rebounds during the game.
