Today in Black history month, we honor Barack Obama.  Barack Obama became the 44th President of the United States of America and was the first African-American to serve in the office of President. President Obama made many improvements within the African-American community as well as for the United States of America. Barack Obama continues to advocate and speak for African-Americans today.

Members of the Science National Honor Society are needed to help at the Oakdale Elementary School Science night on Thursday, March 15th.  Volunteers would help run science stations.  If interested, please contact Mrs. Laura Hauns at the email below.

The National Art Honor Society is having a fundraiser at Jersey Mikes in Mt. Airy today from 10 am to 9 pm. Simply show a flyer to the cashier with your purchase. You can get flyers from art teachers or Rachael Sorenson. Come out to support your fellow Lancers!

High school students interested in forestry, fisheries, wildlife, or park management are invited to join teens from across the Mid Atlantic at the week-long Natural Resources Careers Camp, being held from July 22nd to 28th at the Hickory Environmental Education Center in Garrett County, MD. For more information, see Mr. Sunkel in room A139.

Tonight the boys basketball teams will be playing in an exciting rivalry game against Urbana at home. The JV game starts at 5:30 and the varsity game starts at 7. We will also be recognizing our outstanding senior boys during senior night which will start at 6:40. We hope you will come out to support the teams!

The girls teams will also be playing tonight, facing off against Urbana at Urbana. The JV game starts at 5:30 and the Varsity game starts at 7. Go get ‘em girls!
