Are you a junior with a strong interest in science? The United States Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID) at Ft. Detrick is now accepting applicants for their competitive research internships. They begin this summer for weighted credit.  You must be 16 years old by June 24th to apply. These internships last for a full year, so you would attend school for a half day your senior year. See Mr. Radil-Harris, Mr. Brown, or any science teacher for details.

If you are interested in science, technology, engineering, or math, consider applying for a summer STEM apprenticeship.  For more information, go to www.usaeop.com or see any science or engineering teacher. Talk to Ms. Radil-Harris or Mr. Brown if you have questions.

The holiday season in the Philippines is one of the longest in the world, stretching from the beginning of September all the way to January 9th. People spread their Christmas cheer through holiday decorations such as poinsettias, holiday lights, and traditional star-shaped lamps called Parols.

The boys’ varsity basketball team won 76-29 against Walkersville last Friday. The girls JV team won 44-29 and the girls’ varsity team took an unfortunate loss, 44-26. Good job to all of our basketball players!
