The Linganore Performing Arts Department has been hard at work getting ready for the spring musical “Footloose”. Tickets will be on sale for students all week during all lunch shifts. The price for student admission is $5.00. Show dates and times are April 26th, 27th, and 28th at 7:00 pm, with matinee showings on April 28th, and 29th, at 2:00 pm. If you are considering a career in environmental science or biology, consider registering for Hood College’s ‘Exploring A Watershed’ summer program. You would spend one week this summer paddling down local streams and collecting water quality data with faculty and staff from the Center for Coastal and Watershed Studies. See any science teacher, Mr. Brown, or Ms. Radil-Harris for more information.
The “Harry Potter Alliance” is having their annual Quidditch tournament on Monday, May 21st. Teams must consist of seven people, and may be co-ed. Sign up or visit the learning commons for more details.
Linganore High School “Character Counts” will be hosting “Cruisin’ For A Cause” car show on Sunday, April 29th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm in the stadium parking lot. Intense Barbeque will be on site selling delicious barbeque and other items. This car show benefits two local children’s organizations: S-H-I-P and C-O-I-P-P. See Ms. Aburto with any questions.
JV softball split a doubleheader against Urbana on Saturday. The winning score was 15-14 and quite a comeback.
The following seniors will be honored for their dedication to the softball program today: Cailyn Barthlow, Logan Breidenstein, Jordan Specht, Kaitlyn Naill, Lindsey Thomas, Mikayla McFarland Announcements will start around 4:15pm with the game against TJ to follow. We would love to see you out at the field on this nice, WARM, spring day to celebrate our seniors.
The Varsity tennis teams will play against Thomas Johnson at home today.
Boys lacrosse teams defeated Tuscarora Friday 15-5 and will take on South Carroll High School today.
The baseball team will be playing Thomas Johnson today at home at 4:30 pm.
