Boys basketball season starts with wins against South Carroll: Photo of the Day

On December 5, 2017, the Linganore basketball season started off great against South Carroll. JV won 53-26 and Varsity won 67-44.

The JV team coutworked South Carroll. At the end of the first half, the score was 33-11. The press JV was running causeed most of South Carroll’s turnovers. Garrett Schwartzbeck scored 18 points in his first game.

“The best thing we did was pushing the ball up the court because they couldn’t keep up with us,” said sophomore Schwartzbeck.

Varsity also played with tremendous effort. Nicholas Lang scored 17 points with 5 assists. Drew Twillman had 18 points along with 7 rebounds. The team effectively moved the ball around, creating open shots. The defense was holding its own and came up with many defensive stops.

“We moved the ball efficiently and pressed very well,” said senior Twillman.

“I think we played extremely well as team by developing great team chemistry,” said senior center Tommy Moyer.

The team as whole collected 32 rebounds and 10 steals.

his Friday, JV plays at 5:30 and Varsity play at 7:00.
