Class of 2018 member, Natalie Kucsan, is a hard-working student athlete. Kucsan swims for Monocacy Aquatic Club (MAC) and is ranked 13th in Maryland with a 28.56 power index.
Kucsan holds the record for fastest for 100 free and 50 free, on her MAC team. She hopes to attend University of Kentucky for swimming, and to pursue her career path of either nursing or K-5 education. Her favorite class is Child Development. At school, Kucsan is involved in Animals 101 club and is a member of the National Honor Society, with a 3.5 GPA.
“My coach is always positive and always knows the right thing to say to make things better,” says Kucsan about Beaver. She considers her best aspect as a student athlete to be the fact that she is able to handle swimming while maintaining a high GPA and keeping her social life active.
Kucsan is a hard-worker that constantly is trying to improve her skills both in school and out. She is known for her bold and outgoing character. Former Linganore student, Laura Glawe said,”Natalie is one of the funniest people I know. She has a heart of gold. She is the type of person who walks into a room and immediately lights it up.”
Class of 2018 member, Noah Clabaugh said,”Natalie is an overall really nice person. She makes anything fun, even if it is really boring. She is always keeping the conversation going and joking around. She also is a really talented swimmer.”
Natalie began swimming at the age of three years old. She had always wanted to swim as a child and never seemed to lose that interest. “I wanted Natalie to swim because it is a physical activity that needs constant attention, she would have to work hard to be good and that is exactly what she has done,” said Kucsan’s mother, Pam.
“Nat is easily the happiest most outgoing girl I know, and she can make me smile no matter what,” said Class of 2017 member, Bree Cacciapo.
Mr. Jeb Beaver is the coach for Natalie’s MAC team, he began coaching for the team in 2004. MAC reports that Beaver, “swam for Walkersville High School where he was twice named First Team All-Area by The Frederick News-Post. After Walkersville, Beaver swam for Towson University and served as a team captain in 2002 and 2003 and set three school records during his career.”
